Community |
Raptor’s employees (Team Raptor) believe in giving back to the community by volunteering their time to local and international charities. Below are some of the events in which Team Raptor has participated:
Rare Disease Day - February 29, 2012
Raptor has an ongoing commitment to help underserved patient populations such as those affected by rare and orphan diseases.
According to the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD), Cystinosis and Huntington's Disease are classified as rare diseases, affecting fewer than 200,000 individuals in the United States.
On February 29, 2012, for the third year in a row, Team Raptor posted information on Rare Disease Day and left pamphlets about NORD along with a box of Rare Disease Day magnets at several local businesses. The pamphlets and magnets were well received by the community.

Canal Alliance – September 14, 2010
Canal Alliance has been serving Marin’s low-income population for almost 30 years. They offer a wide range of support from basic services to systemic solutions. Their mission is to develop self-sufficiency and leadership for a healthier community.
During the Week of Caring in September 2010, the Raptor team spent a day with Canal Alliance’s Supplemental Food Distribution. There the team helped in receiving, sorting and handing out food that was generously donated by the local community.

In December 2010, Team Raptor participated in Canal Alliance’s Family Holiday Support program by sponsoring a family of seven. They bought gifts for each family member and one for the household based on a wish list. The gifts were wrapped and dropped off at Canal Alliance just before the holidays.

Habitat for Humanity – December 17, 2009
Habitat for Humanity International (Habitat) is a nonprofit, nondenominational housing ministry. Habitat offers affordable, non-profit housing for people in need regardless of race or religion. Habitat was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. This frees up money for food, child care, medicine and other necessities.
Instead of a having a holiday party in December 2009, Team Raptor chose to celebrate the holidays on December 17, 2009 by working on a Habitat for Humanity house in Novato, California, near Raptor’s corporate offices.
